Welcome to Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Education Orientation Show Transcript former President Obama once said one of the best investments we can make in a child's life is a high-quality Early Education president knew exactly what he was talking about and we strive to make this a reality for the district's youngest Learners hello my name is Steven Seagal and I'm the executive director for the early childhood education division over the last three years we have worked hard make this division leader in the Early Education field for our city state and Country we brought a new curriculum and educational strategies to make sure that all of our children are getting the highest quality education as we prepare them for kindergarten this includes an emphasis on higher-level questioning project-based learning deeper levels of concept development in each of these efforts is critical to the growth of our children and has been supported with ongoing Workforce Development also made social emotional learning a critical piece of the work we do our teachers and staff have been trying to meet the social emotional needs of our young children ensuring that children are care for both cognitively and emotionally this is a staple for all of our programming that all of our kids are being taken care of as children in addition each of our centers has been upgraded so that every center now has Wireless capabilities and every school has iPad for their students teachers use them to support academic growth Innovative learning experiences and some have even started their kids with early coding and Robotics other schools have developed a system science art technology engineering math and dual-language program in addition we are 10th certified nature explore Outdoor Classroom which is an amazing experience for the kids in the school ultimately we want these outdoor classrooms and all of our 86 centers we are strong Believers in equity and inclusion to the early how did education division supports all kinds of student affairs students and our infant centers are Early Education Centers of students in our Park day state preschool programs we have children with exceptional needs and children will face trauma in their very but remains constant for us as a division is that we love them all and no matter what we want to provide a safe and nurturing environment for each and every one of our kids over the last three years our division has grown and we now almost 30,000 preschool students within the district we're each and every Community across LA County to support families via are for infant centers 86 Early Education Centers 350-plus Elementary schools that have preschool programs and 121 preschool inclusion program that support children with exceptional needs and what is this all mean to you we need people we need people who are interested in being part of this movement weenie Early Education Ames building and grounds workers for the education at 10 in office manager teachers and substitutes in each one of these valuable positions within each of these groups are always opportunities for good people to come out into permanent in some of these positions may even have full-time benefits for yourself and your family thank you for listening to this message because Early Education is an investment that helps all of our student and may even help you find a career that you are really passionate about thank you again
